    "body": "<p>&nbsp;</p><p><strong>MANCHESTER, VT</strong> - Ken Burns, the nation&rsquo;s most honored documentary filmmaker, will receive the<strong> </strong>coveted <strong>Lincoln Forum Film Award</strong> at the <strong>2026 Lincoln Forum Spring Symposium </strong>in Manchester, Vermont. </p><p>Lincoln scholar and author Harold Holzer, Chairman of the Lincoln Forum, will present the award to Burns at a gala dinner on Saturday evening, May 2. Burns will become the second<strong>-</strong>ever recipient of the award, which was presented to Doris Kearns Goodwin in 2023. </p><p>The Lincoln Forum is an assembly of people who share a deep interest in the life and times of Abraham Lincoln and the Civil War era. Since 1996, the Lincoln Forum has held annual gatherings in Gettysburg, Pennsylvania, to coincide with the anniversary of President Lincoln&#039;s Gettysburg Address. </p><p><strong>THE LINCOLN FORUM SYMPOSIUM AT HILDENE, SATURDAY, MAY 2, 2026 \u200b </strong></p><p>The 3-day Symposium in Manchester features a full day on Saturday, May 2 at Hildene&rsquo;s Lincoln Hall with speakers, panels, and breakout tours throughout the estate. \u200b Attendees will discover the compelling legacy of the Lincoln family through expert lectures, engaging panel discussions, and exclusive tours. </p><p>The day concludes with the Gala Awards Dinner at 5:30PM in Lincoln Hall with the presentation of the Lincoln Forum Film Award to Ken Burns by Harold Holzer, Chairman of the Lincoln Forum. Following a screening of highlights from the documentary &ldquo;The Civil War,&rdquo; Burns will engage in conversation with Holzer on stage. As a special added attraction, musicians Jay Ungar and Molly Michaels, who composed and performed the haunting &ldquo;Ashokan Farewell&rdquo; theme song for the documentary, will be at the event to serenade the honoree and our attendees with that famous melody and other songs of the Civil War.</p><p>&ldquo;I am so excited to welcome back to Hildene the nation&rsquo;s most prestigious group of Lincoln scholars and authors,&rdquo; said Hildene president Craig Gemmell. &ldquo;I am looking forward to being inspired by and learning from this group.
